The Utility Sales Representative is responsible for the sales of utility and specialty equipment of KATV and all products falling under the Utility unit. The overall objectives of this position are:
- Maximize the exposure of Utility and specialty equipment by frequently interfacing with customers and prospective customers.
- Increase market share on an ongoing basis in order to achieve company goals.
- Coordinate all activities directly related to the sales, service, and operational function of this position.
- Implement the short and long-term strategies of the company into a daily routine.
- Strategize; set realistic sales goals
- Develop new customer contacts
- Provide price quotes
- Properly complete purchase orders
- Complete bids, RFP's, RFI's, etc., as required
- Review KATV's warranty agreement with the purchases
- Train staff and customers as required
- Maintain fiscal responsibility
- Physically demonstrate and deliver products as required
- Develop strong customer base using current and future contacts
- Prepare sales presentations and present either to an individual or group of people
- Develop a sales and marketing budget for review and approval
- Set target numbers and reach target numbers
- Patrol defaults on customer receivables
- Prepare forecast
- Attend trade shows as required
- Make cold calls by phone and/or outbound calls
- Travel extensively (approximately 70%)
- Closing skills a must
- Allow flexibility to meet customer's needs
- Structure financing based on corporate policy and customer's credit history
- Develop a plan to increase customer satisfaction (parts, sales and service)
- Keep abreast of competitor's activities)
- High school diploma or higher. Prefer a degree from a four-year college or university.
- Three years direct sales experience, preferably with large equipment vehicles. Specific experience in large equipment vehicle service operations a plus.
- Possess knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment sales & service operations.
- Have a good driving record and must also be willing to do extensive traveling and work flexible hours.
- Must be able to move a minimum of 50 lbs.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in high places and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may, from time to time, work in outside weather conditions.
