Northeast Regional Sales Manager

Permanent (Full-Time)

As a Regional Dealer Sales Rep you'll own the field presence in the Northeast!

SUMMARY
For more than 70 years, our client has been engineering and manufacturing heavy-duty attachments that work as hard as the people using them. What started as a solution for battling harsh winters has grown into a 150+ attachment portfolio spanning skid steers, tractors, wheel loaders, and mini skid steers serving the construction, agriculture, landscaping, and snow removal industries across North America. This is the right opportunity if you are looking to join a stable company with a ground-floor field sales opportunity who is poised to triple revenue within five years.

As a Regional Dealer Sales Rep you'll own the field presence in the Northeast, one of the newest and most exciting open territories. This is a true field role: you'll be on the road, pulling a company-provided trailer loaded with product, calling on dealers across every major OEM brand in your territory, and building the kind of relationships that turn low-activity accounts into loyal, stocking partners.

This isn't a role for someone looking to manage a mature book of business (hunter vs. farmer mentality). It's for someone who gets fired up by a blank map, thrives on direct conversations with real buyers, and knows that the best way to grow a territory is to show up consistently, persistently, and with something worth showing.

DUTIES
  • Drive your territory in a company-provided, fully outfitted pickup truck pulling a demo trailer 50% of the time to conduct live product demonstrations at dealer locations
  • Call on a broad dealer network across all major OEM brands (CAT, Kubota, JCB, CNH, Bobcat, Volvo, Case, John Deere, and more) brand agnosticism is a built-in advantage
  • Build relationships at every level of the dealership from the front-line sales rep to the parts manager to the dealer principal, and develop strategic territory plans accordingly
  • Identify opportunities to expand dealer revenue through new product introductions (introducing new attachment brands and products to existing dealers, converting non-stocking dealers to stocking programs)
  • Call on national rental accounts including Sunbelt, Herc, and United Rentals at the branch level where authorized purchasing exists
  • Serve as the eyes and ears for attachments in your territory, logging dealer visit notes in Salesforce and feeding market intelligence to the inside sales team in real time
  • Represent the company at dealer open houses, trade shows, and OEM-sponsored events
  • Collaborate with the inside sales team to ensure dealers receive responsive quoting, order support, and after-sale service follow-up
  • Travel approximately 50% of your time within the territory, covering miles between dealers without wasting time in airport terminals (if you don't like driving, this isn't the job for you).
REQUIREMENTS
  • 8+ years of outside or territory sales experience in heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, attachments, or a closely related industrial product category
  • Experience selling through dealer and rental channels. You know the difference between the guy who approves the PO and the guy who recommends the product
  • A hunter's mentality: you're energized by new business development and comfortable pioneering territory without an established playbook
  • The ability to sell value, not price. You believe in what you're selling and know how to make that case convincingly
  • Personal comfort in both environments: walking a muddy equipment lot in work boots and sitting across from a dealer principal at a formal account review
  • Working knowledge of skid steer, tractor, or wheel loader attachments preferred; construction equipment background preferred over ag, though both are valued
  • Comfortable towing a trailer and conducting live product demonstrations (this is central to how the company builds brand presence in the field)
  • Disciplined with light CRM documentation. Salesforce usage is required, but the expectation is brief, voice-dictated dealer notes, not wasting time with extensive call reports
  • College degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
  • Agricultural Equipment
  • Business Development
  • Heavy Equipment
  • outside sales
  • Product Demonstrations
  • Relationship Building
  • Salesforce
  • Territory sales
  • Trade Shows
